These are representatives of mononuclear cells, that are cells with one, non-segmented nucleus. Macrophage is produced by conversion from monocytes. These are formed in the bone marrow from the stem hemopoietic cell and subsequently enter the bloodstream. Monocytes circulate in the blood for about 8 hours, then enter the tissues and turn into macrophages.
